Who is Public Emilie?
Here’s the official blurb: “Emilie is a freelance singer and multi-instrumentalist, bandleader, arranger, music educator and musical director of three choirs. She regularly publishes articles in music journals and on her no-holds-barred blog www.publicemilie.com. She lives by the sea in Whitstable, Kent with her dogs, cats, several pianos and a vegetable plot”.
What do you write about?
At the moment I’m writing a lot about my view of the music business and working in it as a freelancer. I like having a medium that isn’t deadlined; where I can write whatever I like and not cut back on my ‘flowery’ language and lengthy writings.
Who is this blog aimed at?
Musicians and anyone who enjoys my writing.
What is your favourite colour?
Purple.
Why?
Because it is rich and decadent.
Can you tell us anything unusual about you?
I cycle - a lot. In August (2013) I will be cycling the 960 mile length of Britian for charity. I also collect rubber chickens and make sock beings (monkeys, pigs, cats) whilst watching trashy TV. I like cheese balls.
